Advent wireless speakers are what many people are looking for when they consider buying a new pair of speakers online. Unfortunately, the company no longer exists, which is something that you may find surprising given the popularity of their products. Their wireless speakers used to be one of the first to work up to 300 feet off the transmitter. The most popular models for indoor use were the Advent AW870 wireless powered speakers and Advent AW820 wireless stereo speakers. Advent ADVW801 and AW810 sinlge wireless speakers were also frequently bought when outdoor use was considered.

Each of the 10 Watt speakers that come with the Advent AW820 wireless stereo speaker system includes a 4 inch woofer and a 1 inch tweeter. They have a frequency response of 30 Hz to 20 kHz and can be both battery and AC powered. The distance from the transmitter to the speakers should not be more than 300 feet.

Each of the speakers in the Advent AW870 system has a built-in 15 watt amplififer. They can also run in both stereo or mono modes and can be powered with batteries or an included AC adapter. A nice feature of the trasmitter is that the signal is trasmitted omnidirectionally. As with the previous model, the effective trasmission range is up to 300 feet.

As mentioned earlier, Advent wireless speakers can also be used outdoors. ADVW801 and AW810 are two speaker models that are great for that purpose. They both use the 900MHz technology and are weatherproof, although leaving them outside when it’s raining should be avoided. As a standard, the speakers runs in mono mode, but if an additional one is purchased there is no problem with changing to stereo. The speakers can be run on batteries as well as powered with an AC adapter. Both models have similar features, with the main difference being the design of the chassis.

It is not impossible, but certainly difficult, to get a new set of Advent wireless speakers nowadays. Used models, however, are still available in numerous online stores as well as eBay.
